Pushover

Pushover delivers push notifications to iOS, Android, and desktop devices. YipYap integrates with Pushover to deliver alert notifications.

Setup

1. Create an application in the Pushover dashboard.
2. Copy the API token.
3. Copy your user key from the Pushover dashboard main page (or a group key if you want to notify a group).
4. In YipYap, go to Settings > Notifications > Add Channel > Pushover.
5. Enter the API token and user key.
6. Click Save.

Priority Mapping

YipYap maps alert status to Pushover priority levels:

Alert Status	Pushover Priority	Behavior
Down	Emergency (2)	Repeats until acknowledged.
Degraded	High (1)	Bypasses quiet hours.
Recovered	Normal (0)	Standard notification.

Emergency priority notifications repeat every 60 seconds for up to 3 hours until the user acknowledges them in the Pushover app. You can customize the retry interval and expiry in the channel settings.

Group Delivery

To notify multiple people, create a Pushover delivery group and use the group key instead of an individual user key. All members of the group will receive the notification.

Sounds

You can optionally configure a custom notification sound in the channel settings. Pushover supports a variety of built-in sounds, or you can use the device default.
